Karen Van Maele

Karen Leigh Van Maele, 49, of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday evening at the Centerpoint Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the St. John Lelande Catholic Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be a rosary recited at 5:30 followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Karen was born September 25, 1958 in Independence, Mo to George and Carol (Bingham) Van Maele. She was a lifelong area resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1976 and attended CMSU. She was employed by Wells Fargo Financial. She had attended St. John Lelande Catholic Church. She is survived by; 3 sisters, Cathy Lairson and husband Doug, Susan McKinley and husband Gregg and Julie Van Maele; 2 brothers, Chris Van Maele and Kelly Woodcock and Marty Van Maele; and was a favorite aunt to 12 nieces and nephews.
