Kenneth (Mike) Vanderlinden 73, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017 from Alzheimer's disease. Mike was born in Sedalia, MO on January 29, 1944. He retired in 2006 after working for 17 years at Certain-Teed Roofing, and on to Commercial Distribution Center, and Laramie Tire. Mike loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and also took up cycling, which he dearly loved. He became a member of the Elks Lodge #2509 in Blue Springs, Mo a few years before being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jo Ann (Zickus) Vanderlinden, his daughter, Michelle Vestle and husband, Brian, and granddaughter Madison whom he dearly loved; 2 brothers Donald Gene Vanderlinden (Barbara), and Steven Vanderlinden (Julie) and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Hazel Vanderlinden, his grandparents Charles and Mary Connor, and Bill and Honor Vanderlinden. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. .
