Forrest J. Vaughn, 81, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his residence. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday. March 15, 2005 at Floral Hills Cemetery. Forrest was born August 4, 1923 in Miller County, MO to Willard and Beulah (Brown) Vaughn. He worked as a postal clerk for the Kansas City Postal Distribution Center. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII. He is survived by; a son David Vaughn of Independence, MO; a daughter, Cheryl Thornton of Independence, MO; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Shaner-Coombs; a sister, Geneva Wallace of Connecticut and 6 step grandchildren.
