Jean graduated from William Chrisman High School and went on to dedicate an impressive 34 years of her career as a funding specialist at Lake City, where her commitment and diligence earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Throughout her life, Jean embodied a vibrant personality, marked by her loving, supportive, and generous nature. She was known as the glue of her family, embodying the qualities of an extraordinary role model. Her magic shone through at holiday gatherings, where her impeccable care and consideration created cherished memories for her family. Those fortunate enough to know her can attest to her intelligence and intuition; there was seemingly nothing she could not do or find.

Jean treasured the time spent traveling with her beloved husband, Don. Whether cruising in their RV to explore different corners of the United States, taking weekend trips on his motorcycle, or enjoying rides in his beautiful, black Corvette, Jean embraced life to the fullest. The family’s property at Truman Lake held a special place in her heart, particularly their Deepwater Farm, where Fourth of July celebrations were transformed into unforgettable experiences, showcasing her zest for life and family. Jean's passing was preceded by her parents, Albert and Audrey (Thomas) Strickland; her brother, Thomas Strickland; and her beloved husband, Donald Lowery. Her remarkable legacy of love lives on through her children, Dan Couch, Rick Couch (Richelle Basgall), Levin Lowery (Sandy), Shelly Smith (Tyler), and her step-daughter, Paula Lowery (Jeff); her sister, Mary Terryberry, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in Missouri, Kansas, and California, and her beloved dog, Cooper.
