Virginia Renate Hendrix

Virginia Renate Hendrix, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 75. Born on November 6, 1949, in Texas, Virginia’s journey through life was marked by her strength, kindness, and humor.

Virginia was raised in both Germany and the United States, which shaped her unique perspective on life. She attended school in both countries, growing into a remarkable woman who spoke both English and German fluently. After graduating from Austin High School in Texas, her educational path laid the groundwork for a successful career in accounting.

Outside of her career, Virginia had an adventurous spirit and a zest for life. She cherished the moments spent riding the Harley with Ron, embracing the freedom of the open road. Traveling to new destinations brought her happiness. She loved to explore. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Virginia’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a reminder of a life well-lived, filled with adventure, laughter, and love.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ron Hendrix; sons, Russ Hendrix (Rebecca) and Shannon Hendrix (Nicole); daughter, Shawn Hendrix; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Dorthea (Desch) Johnson, 2 siblings and 2 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on June 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Her, family and friends will come together to celebrate Virginia’s life, share stories, and remember her warmth, humor, and the way she brightened the lives of those she touched.
