Virginia Nelle Trowbridge was born in Kansas City, MO on July 05, 1926, to Mr. and Mrs. C E Weddle. She was raised in Independence with her four brothers Vernon, Curtis, Carroll, and Keith. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1944, obtained her pilots license at 21, and married Robert Trowbridge in 1948. Together they had three children Lee Ann, Mark Allen, and Janet Marie, as well as one granddaughter Emily Trowbridge. They lived in Texas and California and returned to this area. She was an avid reader and favored mysteries. She also loved old movies and could tell you the names of many actors and their respective movies. She had an incredible memory throughout her life. She could recite lengthy poetry, some from fifth grade; also, she would often break out in song, which we all found quite entertaining. She was quite an athlete. She played golf, tennis, and racquetball, often competing against younger men. She had a lifetime of adventure sports, flying, skydiving at 50, and ballooning at 70. She spent her final days at Ignite Resort in Blue Springs, Missouri, where she passed away at the age of 97. May she rest in peace.
