William “Bill” V. Vornold, 73, Independence, MO passed away June 11, 2010. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Centerview Cemetery, Centerview, MO. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Lung Association.
Bill was born in Dalton, MO, grew up in Brunswick, MO and graduated from Brunswick High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at Allis-Chalmers Co., now known as AGCO, for thirty-five years and retired as the credit and collections manager in Dec. 2000. He was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, had a large toy tractor collection and was a true blue Royals fan. Bill and his wife Janet had just recently celebrated their thirty-fourth wedding anniversary.
Bill was preceded in death by a son Tony William Vornold. He is survived by his wife Janet Vornold, of the home; daughter Melinda Vornold-Erk and husband Chad, Blue Springs, MO; son Robert Vornold, Sterling Heights, MI; and grandchildren Keighan & Reed William Erk.
