Wade Carson Spitler, 84, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Born in New Market, Virginia, to Edward and Flora Spitler, Wade was one of eleven children. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his retirement from military service, he continued his career in food service at Lee's Summit Hospital, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

Wade found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time on his porch, relaxing in his favorite rocker while admiring his flowers and watching the birds. He was a fan of classic country music, enjoyed watching sports, solving crossword puzzles, testing his knowledge with Jeopardy!, and relaxing with classic westerns on Grit TV.

Above all else, Wade's greatest pride and accomplishment was his family. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Wade is survived by his children, Dawn (Garry) Roberge and Dennis Spitler; his grandchildren, Kristen (Evan) Brummond, Andrew Roberge, and Brian (Jordan) Spitler; his great-grandchildren, Teagan Brummond, Raylan Brummond, Carter Spitler, and Carson Spitler; his siblings, Lona and Jacob; along with extended family and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanne Spitler; his parents, Edward and Flora Spitler; and his siblings, Frank, Harry, Betty, Dolan, Charlie, Doris, Robert, and Raymond.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

Wade will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering devotion to his family, and appreciation for the simple moments that made life meaningful. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
