Frank Lee Wagner, 82, of Independence, MO left this world on November 8th, 2015 surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, November 11th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:00am Thursday, November 12th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Frank was born May 16, 1933 in Kansas City, MO as one of five children to Joseph Hubert and Bertha Lelia (Frede) Wagner. He graduated from William Chrisman High School class of 1952. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Nelle Frances (Leap) on April 4, 1958 and together had two children. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Independence. He graduated from Spartan Aeronautics and worked as a mechanic for TWA. Frank retired as electrical instructor in 1995 after 38 years of devoted and joyful work. He enjoyed puttering around after his retirement and especially enjoyed the time it allowed him to spend with his grandchildren. He took the title of Papa very seriously, and loved being around his grandchildren immensely. Frank is remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is also remembered as brilliant, generous, kind, and the first to offer assistance in times of need. He had a life-long love of learning, and he enjoyed birdwatching. Frank was the handiest of men and saw every broken appliance or vehicle as a challenge. He is loved and will be missed.
