Myron Waight

Myron Burton Waight, 94 of Raymore, MO, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship of John at Foxwood Springs or to the Shriner’s Children Hospital. Myron was born September 23, 1913 in Kansas City, MO to Myron and Lilly (Smith) Waight, Sr. but lived most of his life in Independence until moving to Raymore in 1987. He is a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, MO and was an ordained deacon and Sunday school superintendent at Rockwood Baptist Church and Immanuel Baptist Church. He retired from KC Power & Light in 1977 after 35 years of employment. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Masonic Lodge #614, past High Priest of Mt. Washington Royal Arch Masons #142, Independence Council of Royal and Select Masters #49, Past Commander of Palestine Commandery #17, Past Patron of Mt. Washington Chapter #423 O.E. S. and a member of the Ararat Shrine. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys in 2003. Survivors include a son, Eugene Waight and his wife Esther of Raymore, MO.
