Patricia Ruth Walters, 84 formerly of Independence, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Clare Bridge Assisted Living Center in Leawood, KS. Private graveside interment will be held in the Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice 7611 State Line Rd. Suite 200 Kansas City, MO 64114 or to the Children’s Place 2 E. 59th Street in Kansas City, MO 64113. Patricia was born April 3, 1923 in Independence, MO to Carl and Ruth Margaret (Crumm) Donaldson. She grew up in Independence and as a young child attended the Englewood RLDS Church and graduated from the first class at William Chrisman High School in 1941 where she was voted Homecoming Queen and later attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO. She had worked as an executive secretary at Bartlett Grain, Allis Chalmers, Information Products and Sappers as a sales associate. She was a member of the Independence Young Matrons where she played the beloved character of “Alfred the Leprechaun” during their plays. She enjoyed playing bridge in her spare time and loved spending time with family. She was married to James H. “Joe Paul” Walters on October 21, 1949. He passed away on November 11, 2001. Survivors include; 3 children, Craig Walters and his wife Mary of Camdenton, MO, Pat Martin and her husband Jim of Prairie Village, KS and Todd Walters and his wife Nancy of Blue Springs, MO; 5 grandchildren, Jodi Jones, Tricia Cooke, Patrick Martin, Christopher Martin and Paige Walters and 3 great grandchildren.
