Larry R. Walton

Larry R. Walton, 54, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, February 14, 2005 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the Chapel. Donations may be made to the organization of the donor�s choice. Larry was born June 22, 1950 in Kansas City, MO to Leonard Junior and Mildred Louise (Prewitt) Walton. He spent his early life in Chillicothe, MO attending grade school and High school there graduating in 1968. He also attended Concordia High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a delivery driver for O�Reilly Auto Parts in Independence for the past 5 years, Prior to that he worked as a truck driver logging over 1,000,000 miles and had worked as a mechanic for the United States Postal Service in Topeka, KS. He enjoyed drag racing motorcycles and was a member of the IHRA and the NHRA. He is survived his companion of over 20 years, Linda Schwark of the home; his father, Leonard Junior Walton of Chillicothe, MO; a son, Ryan Walton of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Sherry Schlueter of Concordia, MO; 3 brothers, Gary Walton of Barstow, CA, Bill Walton of Independence, MO and Bryant Walton of Springfield, MO; 3 grandchildren, Jacob John, Joshua John and Jillian John. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Louise Walton in 1994, and 2 brothers, Bruce Alan Walton in 1985 and Roger Edward Walton in 1974.
