Noel Watterson, 62, formerly of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by his family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Speaks. Graveside services 2:00 p.m. Friday at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri. Noel was born November 1, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Robert and Lucille (Burch) Watterson. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Watterson retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service as a Millwright Skilled Trade . He was a member of the Baptist Church. Noel was a Mason and a lifetime member of the VFW. Mr. Watterson spent the last 11 years traveling in his motor home with his wife Julie. He loved fishing and collecting knives in his spare time. Noel is survived by his wife Julie “Judy” Watterson; children Julie Divers and husband Joe, Deborah Person and husband Tony, Dorothy McKenna, Tiffany Page and husband Donald, Matthew Watterson and wife Jana, Tim McKenna; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Robert F. Watterson and wife Waynette; sisters Mary Watterson, Jo Ann Watterson; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas Watterson; son Scotty Joe McKenna.
