Marvin Weakley, 77, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 7, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, September 11, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be at 2:00pm Saturday, September 12th at the chapel with procession to Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Marvin was born January 16, 1938 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Northeast High School. Later he worked for many years at General Motors. He was a good provider and a family man. He married his beloved Sherron (Zabel) in November of 1972. Together they enjoyed getting to know everyone around town, and doting on grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Sherron of the home; daughter, Rachelle Weakley (John Pichelman) of Lee’s Summit, MO; son, Douglas Weakley (Kim) of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren, Hunter, Alexis, Sami, T.D., and Melinda; great grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron Elaine, Bailey, Cameron Blake, Landon, and Aiden. Marvin was preceded in death by h is parents, and a special grandmother who he looked forward to seeing again. The family encourages memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society in his memory.
