Marguerite Weaver

Marguerite F. “Marnie” Weaver, 93, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Northern Blvd., Independence, MO 64052. Marguerite was born December 8, 1917 in Independence, MO to Leo and Carrie (Weis) Harrison. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1934 and then attended Jane Hayes Gates Institute where she studied commercial art. Mrs. Weaver later became an art director for Aunt Marthas Studios, worked for Modern Handcraft. After retirement, she taught art for many years to seniors. Marguerite was an active and faithful member of Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son Joel Weaver, daughter Julie Weaver Saper of San Diego, CA; grandson Nathan Saper of Chicago, IL. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at Villages of Jackson Creek and Crossroads Hospice.
