Carolyn Webb, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away March 14, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at Bethel United Church of Christ, 4900 NE Parvin Road, Kansas City, MO. Carolyn was born August 27, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, MO to T. Frank and Lela (Blackmore) Williams. After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, she attended S.W. Baptist College, where she received an associates degree in music. Carolyn was an accomplished musician who appeared as soprano soloist with community and church choirs. She also enjoyed playing the piano and organ for her church. She was devoted to children’s Christian education in the churches they served. Carolyn was Pastor’s secretary at First Baptist Church of Independence until her retirement in 1999. She is survived by her husband, Kenton Webb; daughters, Judith Webb, Jane Webb Childress and husband Kyle; one son, Jeffrey Webb and wife Barbara; one brother, Paul Williams; and four grandchildren, Emily and Callie Childress, Brady and Bailey Webb. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Ralph Williams. Contributions may be made to Seasons Care Center, 15600 Woods Chapel Rd., Kansas City, MO 64139.
