Goldie E. Weir (Curtis)

Goldie E. Weir, 96, of Independence, MO passed away June 23, 2015. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Mound Grove Cemetery. Goldie was born June 9, 1919 in Milliken, CO to Roy and Elizabeth (Wigham) Curtis. In 1983, she retired from the Mid Continent Public Library where she had worked for 30 years. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William V. Weir; one daughter, Janice Weir; and three sisters. She is survived by one sister, Wilma Tweedy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
