Suzanne Weiss (Hampton)

Suzanne Weiss, 80, 0f Independence, MO passed away July 6, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, July 15 at the chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday at Chilhowee Cemetery. Suzanne was born on December 26, 1934 in Higginsville, MO to Charles and Sara Katherine (Finks) Hampton. Suzanne attended CMSU and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Suzanne had a long career with Farm & Home Saving. After working at several branches, she retired after 25 years of service. She was a long time member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Independence. In 1985 she was united in marriage to Leroy Weiss. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoyed flower gardening and interior decorating. Survivors include; husband Leroy Weiss; sons Scott Braley (Molly), Colin Braley (Beth) and Stuart Weiss; daughter Leeann Stevens; granddaughter Adeline Rose Braley, and a brother, Bill Hampton. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs or Salvation Army.
