Harold E. Welch, 86, of Centerview, MO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away March 14, 2010. A visitation will take place from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A second visitation will take place from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 18, at Sacred Heart Parish, 300 S. Ridgeview Dr., Warrensburg, MO. Graveside services to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Harold was born September 27, 1923 in Independence, MO to Arthur and Gladys Welch. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and then served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve as Seaman First Class. Harold worked as a photo lab tech most of his life, and retired from H&H Color Lab in Raytown, MO. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Welch; daughter, Julie Walton; son, Mark Welch and wife Anne; stepdaughters, Kathy M. Bass and husband Richard, Cynthia A. Schultz and husband Dave; step grandchildren, Melissa Stark and Kurtis Schultz; two sisters, Dorothy Howerton and husband H. Ken and Lois Carpenter, both of Independence, MO.
