Lucille Lillian “Lucy” West, of King City, Missouri, passed away at her home on September 23, 2022. She was 96 years old.
Lucy was born to Everett and Flossie Lawson on July 16, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended and graduated from North East High School in Kansas City. Lucy worked as a telephone operator for a short while until she united with the love of her life, Glen E. West. They married in 1946, and from their union came two daughters, Debra and Connie. Lucy dedicated herself to her family, staying home to raise her girls. In her free time, Lucy loved spending time with her family, fishing, being outdoors, and taking trips to the casino.
Lucy is survived by her daughters, Debra West and husband Ross, and Connie Ayres; grandsons Jeremy and Matthew O’Neal; granddaughter, India Gaines (Bryan); and four great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glen West; parents Everett F. and Flossie I (Spradley) Lawson; and sister, Betty Buford.
A family inurnment will take place at Mt. Washington Cemetery at a later date.
