James “Jim” Westerfield, Sr., 84, of Kansas City, MO passed away February 5, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, at the chapel with burial at Mt. Washington to follow. Jim was born July 25, 1923 in Blackburn, MO to Raymond and Susie (Wood) Westerfield. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII, and became a member of both the American Legion and VFW. Jim owned his own truck line, Westerfield Trucking Inc., as well as driving for the Navaho and Graves Truck Lines before his retirement in 1987. He was also a property investor, and primarily owned properties in the city of Grandview, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby I. Westerfield. Jim is survived by daughter, Jeanene Easley; son, Jim Westerfield Jr.; daughter, Jeanette Stapelman; four grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Westerfield; four sisters, Mildred Maxon, Mary Robinson, Nancy Cude and Barbara Lay.
