Colleen “Coe” R. Wharton, 78, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away July 21, 2008 at Research Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Friday, July 25, 2008 at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Rushville, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital.
Coe was born May 28, 1930 in Rushville, MO and graduated from Rushville High School. She worked for Gas Service Company for fifteen years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Rushville, and was an Associate member of the Ararat Shrine Temple and a member of the Needle Guild.
Coe was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Bertha Crossfield, and sisters Ernestine Dotson and Eileen Hamilton. She is survived by husband Dennis Wharton, of the home; daughter Sherry Brunk; son Sean Patrick Ryan and wife Kelly, all of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Ryan Brunk, Megan Ryan, Bailee Ryan; nephew Mike Hamilton, Houston, TX and niece Shonda Monicle, Cleveland, TN.
