Danny Ray Whiteaker, 47, of Independence, MO passed away June 29, 2009 after a short illness and courageous fight to return to his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and remained a true patriot through his last days. He was a strong man in every way and the Rock of the family. He was a talented musician who enjoyed singing and playing real country music. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, ATV’s, fishing, and boating on the lake. What Danny loved most of all was spending time with his family. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 24 years, Julie; his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Amy; daughter Kebra and future son-in-law Justin; and sons Kalen and Ben. PawPaw simply adored his granddaughters Isabel and Ava, and they will miss him greatly. A mother-in-law Karen and brother-in-law Darrell also survive him, along with countless other friends and families who will carry his hearty laugh and warm smile in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday July 2, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday July 3 at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to either the American Diabetes Association or the National Rifle Association.
