Pauline Whitehead, 96, of Independence, MO passed away April 10, 2013. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Graveside service to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Pauline was born April 11, 1916 in Puryear, TN to Joseph Clinton and Ada Bell (Seaton) Alexander. On May 9, 1936, she married Hubert Whitehead and to their union, three children were born. Pauline lived a life of service. She was a devoted member of the Laurel Club and loved her time volunteering at the Sanitarium, later known as Independence Regional Health Center. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed painting. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert Whitehead; sister, Verla Waters; and brother, Jack Alexander. She is survived by her three children, Keith Whitehead, Sharon Baker and Murray Whitehead; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
