Violet Marie Whiting, 96 of Independence, MO passed away, Monday, August 25, 2008 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. Violet was born May 13, 1912 in Deer Creek, MN to Orrin Herbert and Rosa Belle (Fletcher) Vargason and has been a long time Independence resident. She was a loving wife and mother and had worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant as well as Tension Envelope Company. She was a lifelong active member of the Restoration Church (Cutlerite’s) in Independence, MO. She was married to Julian Whiting on December 24, 1933; he preceded her in death on October 3, 2004. Survivors include; a son, Stan Whiting and his wife Shirley of Independence, MO, a daughter, Mary Worden and her husband Wray of Blue Springs, MO a son, Daryl Whiting and his wife Elaine of Blue Springs, MO; 3 sisters, Hazel Whiting of Independence, MO, Grace Persons of Henning, MN and Irene Tigges of Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and her loving church family.
