Wallace Whitney, Jr.

Wallace H. Whitney, Jr., 59, of Lee’ Summit, MO was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the City Union Mission. Wallace was born July 17, 1949 in Kansas City, KS to Wallace H. and Mary Frances (Boyd) Whitney, Sr. He was a former member of Tri-City Ministry and had a very strong faith in God. Mr. Whitney retired from Hallmark Cards in ’06 after 30 years of employment. Wallace lived for KU Jayhawk basketball and enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs. He was preceded in death by loving wife of 18 years, Janet Whitney in ’02. Mr. Whitney is survived by his parents Wallace and Frances Whitney, Sr.; step-son David Taylor and wife Kristen; grandchildren Matthew and Kathryn Taylor; brothers Norman and John Whitney; and by a host of special friends.
