Clifford Whitson

Clifford Whitson, 74, of Independence, MO passed away January 10, 2012 at St. Luke’s Northland. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. service to follow on Friday, January 13, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Clifford was born June 15, 1937 in Desoto, KS to Clifford N. and Leora M. (Webb) Whitson. He enjoyed fishing and absolutely loved collecting eagles. Clifford’s real passion was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who had a never ending love for his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all who were affected by him. Clifford was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Whitson; one brother, Alfred Whitson; one sister, Judy Whitson; and a great granddaughter, BrookLynn DeLany. He is survived by his two sons, Bill Whitson and wife Shelly, Dennis Whitson and wife Teresa; three daughters, Brenda Byrd and husband Dan, Cindy Whitson and Fiance Steve, Carrie Eaton and husband Mike; one sister, Janice Armstrong of Ft. Worth, TX; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and loving dog of 14 years, Buster.
