Raymond Roy Wilckens, 70, Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011.
A celebration of Raymond’s Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; 17200 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Higginsville City Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Raymond was born February 9, 1941 in Concordia, MO the son of Walter John and Mary Marcelline (Albin) Wilckens. He was a graduate of Concordia High School. Raymond retired from AGCO as a machinist and continued his love with woodworking, operating Wilckens Woodworking with his son. He served as contributing editor for over 15 years with Creative Woodworks and Crafts Magazine. Raymond was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee and was also a member of the Scrollsaw Association of The World. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Betty of 50 years; sons, Dan Wilckens and wife Tammy, Scott Wilckens and partner Javier Trevino; grandchildren, Stephen and Kyle Wilckens; great grandchildren, Nikki, Jett, and Gianna Rae.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
