Amy Wilcoxson

July 29, 1966 — April 20, 2010

Amy Lilian Gose Wilcoxson, 43, of Lincoln, NE passed April 20, 2010, after a courageous life battling lupus and kidney failure.

Amy was born July 29, 1966 in the village of Horconcitos, Honduras. In 1971 she was adopted into the loving home of Warren and Barbara (Barnhard) Gose. In 1976 Amy received her United States citizenship. She graduated from high school in Maryville, Missouri in 1985 and attended Northwest Missouri State University. Always upbeat and positive, Amy brought smiles to the faces of those around her. Amy was a cross country runner and softball player. She loved to travel and saw much of the country by motorcycle. One of the most eventful periods of her life was in 1996 when she received her adopted son and a perfect match kidney transplant both within two days.

In addition to her beloved son Christian Wilcoxson of Omaha, NE, other survivors include parents Warren and Barbara Gose of Independence, MO, brother Peter Gose and wife Tracey of Parkville, MO, brother Christopher Gose and wife Michelle of Bountiful, UT, nephews Grant Gose and Jack Gose, nieces Hannah Gose and Vanessa McDonough, Aunt Judi Spillman and Uncle Milo Barnhard Jr., both of Independence, MO, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jared Christensen, paternal grandparents Coda and Hazel Gose, and maternal grandparents Milo and Mary Barnhard.

Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Woods Chapel Community of Christ Church; 500 NE Woods Chapel Rd. Lee’s Summit, MO. A memorial service will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Woods Chapel Community of Christ Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
