Marietta Wilkinson

Marietta E Wilkinson, 83, of Leawood, Kansas, formerly a life-long resident of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2010 at Manor Care Nursing Home of Overland Park. Marietta was born March 5, 1927 in Rockville Missouri to Eugene Siegismund and Esta Mae (Corlew) Siegismund. Marietta graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1945. There she was active in Quill and Scroll and 4H. She worked for AT&T Long Lines for over 30 years. Marietta was an AT&T Pioneer. She was a member of the Communications Workers of America and served as a shop steward for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Marietta is survived by a brother, Clyde Siegismund of Humansville, Missouri; son, John Richard Wilkinson of Leawood, Kansas; and two grand children, Erin Wilkinson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and Jeremy Wilkinson of Ft Myers Florida. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. service to follow on Friday, March 19, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
