Willa Dean Murphy

Willa Dean (Parson) Murphy of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 83 years. She was born on September 26, 1942, in Millcreek, Missouri, to Otto and Ruby Parson. With the love of her life, William Lewis "Bill" Murphy, Willa provided a loving and nurturing home for their two children, Audie and Ron. 

Throughout her life, Willa was known as a woman with a keen eye, and gave extra attention to detail, both in her career as a customer relations representative and her personal care through Mary Kay products. 

Willa is survived by her husband, William Lewis "Bill" Murphy; and her two sons, Audie Murphy (Lisa) and Ronald "Ron" Murphy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto Wilbur Parson and Ruby Arbeda (Minson) Parson. 

A memorial visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Saturday, July 18th at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. Her memorial service will begin at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Willa's honor to the American Heart Association.
