William “Michael” Ahmann passed unexpectedly and peacefully in Independence, Missouri on October 6th, 2024 at the age of 74.
Remaining to cherish Mike’s memory is his sister, Mary “Peggy”Holmes; nephew, Ryan Holmes and family, Anya, Thomas, and Hayden; niece, Allison Holmes, and family, Nick, Mia, Makenna, Nicco, and Rocco; nephew, Tanner Holmes and family, Sarah; and his dear friend and partner in crime, Charley Payton.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother and father, Sarah and William “Bill” Ahmann, and brother-in-law, Ronald Holmes.
Mike was born on July 12,1950 in Independence, MO to Sarah and William Ahmann. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1968. Mike went to the University of Missouri in Rolla and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. From a young age Mike enjoyed hunting and looked forward to hunting trips with his friend, John Ross, and cousin, Steve Coil. Mike pursued many professional endeavors within the construction and asphalt business and notably bought a hotel and restaurant in Brookfield, MO, that he enjoyed running for many years. In later years, Mike worked as an Estimator for Wizard Asphalt.
Mike is remembered by his family and friends as a kind, gentle, and loving brother, uncle, and friend. Mike was passionate about his faith and lived his life quietly doing kind things for others. Mike had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the nuances and small moments talking and laughing with all his nieces and nephews, whom all in return adored him.
There will be a graveside service on October 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery for friends and family.
