William "Bill" J. Dogle

William “Bill” Dogle was born on March 11, 1948, in Independence, MO to Florence Elizabeth (White) Dogle and Joseph Frank Dogle. Bill passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, he was 77.

Bill attended high school in Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School. After graduating, Bill enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1966 to 1970. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in New Jersey where he met the love of his life Diane Elaine (Netting) Dogle. Bill and Diane were married on April 20,1968 in Independence, MO and had three children together. They were married for 47 years before Diane’s passing on September 28, 2015.

While in the Air Force, Bill was trained as a firefighter and after his discharge he was a volunteer firefighter for 40 years in Sugar Creek, MO. He also led the Explorers program at the Sugar Creek Fire Department and was a Boy Scout Leader for many years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty Dogle; and his wife Diane Dogle.

Bill is survived by his children, Michele (Tom) Dogle of Independence, Beth Michaelis (Andrew) of Kansas City, and William (Bill) Dogle of Excelsior Springs, and grandchildren, Emily Michaelis of Kansas City, Genevieve Michaelis of Topeka, Brendan Dogle of Independence, and Stephen James of Excelsior Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Bill has been cremated and a celebration of Bill’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
