Bill passed away peacefully at his home in Independence, Missouri, on June 4, 2026, at the age of 83.
Bill was born on January 5, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent his entire life in the Kansas City and Independence communities he loved. He graduated from East High School in 1961 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.
Following his military service, Bill built a career spanning more than 43 years as a Security Guard with Bendix, Allied Signal, and Honeywell. Known to many as "Davey," he was respected for his dependability, dedication, strong work ethic, and especially his mischievous sense of humor.
Bill had a creative spirit and enjoyed arts and crafts. He never met a joke he wouldn't tell, and those who knew him will remember his quick wit and ability to make people laugh.
One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his beloved wife, Linda. Married for 48 years, they loved to dance, travel, and meet new people along the way, never knowing a stranger.
Bill and Linda found a spiritual home at the Church of the Four Corners in Independence, where they devoted their lives to Christ. His faith provided strength, comfort, and guidance through both good times and difficult ones and remained an important part of his life.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Davison II; his mother, Geraldine Skaggs; his beloved wife, Linda Diane Davison (Gay); and his son, Troy Alen Davison.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry Davison and his wife, Michelle Davison, and Jason Davison; his grandson, Troy Allen Davison of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; his granddaughters, Jessica Davison and Emily Torres and her husband, Alexis Torres; his cherished great-grandsons, Maximiliano Escamilla (9) and Ilo Torres (3); and his brother, Steven Perry and his wife, Connie, all of Independence, Missouri.
Bill also opened his heart and home to an extended family whom he loved and cared for as his own: Terry Vanvelson-Kincaid, Frank "Buddy" Kincaid, their daughter, Destiny Kincaid, and her five sons, Chance, Cole, Corbin, Gabriel Thirstrup, and Grayson Kincaid.
He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends Donna Hill, and Michelle Kobe of Independence. MO. who loved and cared for Bill.
Bill will be remembered for his faith, loyalty to family, love of laughter, and generous heart. Whether sharing a handmade Chiefs or Royals hat, telling one of his unforgettable jokes, or spending time with those he loved, he brought joy to the lives of many.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created, the values he shared, and the love he gave will remain with his family and friends forever.
Service will be held at a future date
