Ethel "Granny" Williams, 87, a long time resident of Independence, Missouri passed from this life peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 4, 2011. She was surround by love. Ethel was born December 22, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She retired from the Dupont Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1982 after 24 years of service. She is a member of the Mount Washington Methodist Church in Independence, Missouri. Ethel loved traveling with her husband. Many trips were taken to visit their family and friends throughout the years. Ethel loved her family and friends alike and considered her friends to be a part of her extended family. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, John "Pappy" Williams of Independence, Missouri; two sons Ron (Jane) Wolfe of Florida, Bob (Paula) Wolfe of Texas; Fred (Karen) Williams of Missouri, Mike (Cindy) Williams of Missouri, Patti (Price) Pepper of Alabama; brother-in-law Lloyd Sinsley of Missouri; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 great, great, grandchild and many, many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri 64052. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery.
