Gene Williams, 68, of Independence, MO passed away on June 22, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Gene was born October 18, 1938 in McCrory, Arkansas. He retired from Independence Power and Light in 1998 after 33 years of service. Gene enjoyed gardening, yard work, swimming and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Laura Williams; one son, Ted Williams; two brothers, Edward and Wayne Williams; four sisters, Mary Wilson, Darlene Taylor, Gwen Grapperhaus and Judy Stevens. Gene will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and dearly loved him.
