Dr. Robert Leroy Williams passed away on Thursday at Centerpoint Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO 64055. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel.
Donations may be made in his name to the Lung Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund.
He graduated from Kansas City Osteopathic College in 1978, and went into Family Practice with his father Dr. James E. Williams, at 4419 S. Crysler, Independence, MO 64055 where he practiced until his retirement on August 28, 2015 and was a life-time resident of Independence, MO.
He is survived by his wife Idelle Williams, his daughter Rachael Williams Shalley, and son-in-law Chet Shalley of Independence, Mo. He is also survived by his Mother, Betty A. Williams, and sister Kimberly Roberts, and brother-in-law Mike Roberts also of Independence, and several sister-in-laws, brothers in law, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, and patients who will miss him.
He was a member of the Missouri Osteopathic Association. He had a passion for wood working, always had a joke on his lips and a compassionate heart for his patients. He always told it like it is and was affectionately nick-named, Walter Concrete.
