Robert Williams, 68, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Rosewood Health Center. A visitation will be from 9-10:00 AM Wednesday, January 28 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., with services beginning at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Big Creek Cemetery in Bosworth, MO. The family requests no flowers and contributions be made to either the Groves Community Hospice or a charity of your choice.
Robert was born September 13, 1940 in Bosworth, MO to Arthur and Helen (Robertson) Williams. He was a member of Happy Hut Teen Town and enjoyed Parks and Recreation activities. He also competed within the Special Olympics. Bob worked in various capacities at the Blue Valley Workshop for nearly 30 years and was a member of the White Avenue United Methodist Church.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by two sisters: Luella Sprague and Joyce Williams; eight nieces; six great-nieces; and eight great-nephews.
