Beulah Eva Wilson, 85, passed away on October 9, 2015, in Lees Summit, MO. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, from 5-8pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. in Independence.
Beulah was born on August 21, 1930, in Kansas City, MO, to Ulpian Grey and Julia Melissa (Boyd) Mitchell. She attended Northeast High School, and later worked at Cascio’s and Ball’s grocery stores. Her family fondly remembers her passion for garage sales and thrift stores, sewing, gardening, and fishing, and most of all, her beloved cats.
She is survived by her children, Sondra (Tom) Garrett, and Teresa (David) Trinidad; 4 grandchildren: Julie Stone, Darrin (Emily) Stone, David (Kate Thurman) Trinidad, Jr., and Jennifer (Danny) Sweeney; and 7 great-grandchildren: Cole and Sarah Morgan, Ethan, Elliott, and Aubrey Stone, and Landon and Henry Sweeney. She also leaves behind her former son-in-law, Arlie Heiman, and special friend, Diane Golden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Wilson, and daughter, Kathy Heiman.
A heartfelt thanks goes to Audria, Levi, Joyce, Melissa, and all the staff at Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Pastor Shaun Sutton, Beulah’s neighbor and dear friend, for his continuing love and thoughtfulness, as well as the staff at Wilshire at Lakewood for their support and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fort Osage Church of the Nazarene or an animal shelter/rescue of donor’s choice, in Beulah’s memory.
