Ray Kenneth Wilson, 90, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, January 6, 2012.
Born in 1921, in Vale, South Dakota, Ray courageously and proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Independence and the attack transport U.S.S. Oconto. One of the proudest days of Ray’s life was visiting the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C., shortly after it was dedicated.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, Ray is survived by their four children. Services will be private, family-only. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kansas City Hospice House at 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145 or at www.kansascityhospice.org.
