Raymond B. Winburn

Raymond B. Winburn, age 92 of Independence, MO died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., Oct. 17 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052; interment with Full Military Honors at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Northern Blvd., Independence, MO 64052. Raymond was born in Braymer, MO on Aug. 22, 1923 to George B. and Floy Alice Winburn. He married Jean (Fitzgerald) on May 15, 1948. Raymond worked 54 years for the United States Postal Service and served in the Army Air Corps. He is survived by four children, Barbara McKinney of St, Joseph, MO, David Winburn of Kansas City, MO, Patty Stein of Leawood, KS, and Mike Winburn of Independence, MO.; two grandchildren, Jacob Stein & Nathan McKinney. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, brother Floyd, and sister-in-law Mabel.
