Margot Theresia Wagner Winemiller 82, Lee’s Summit, MO left her earthly home on Wednesday March 25, 2009.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Lunch for family and friends will follow at the Southside Christian Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
Margot was born June 2, 1926 in Nurnburg, Germany the daughter of Robert and Marie (Wagner) Weidenhammer. Survivors include her children, John Winemiller, Denver, CO; Diana Winemiller, Denver Colorado; Linda Dickens and husband Gary, Independence, MO; Cindy Gevara and husband Nick, Yoder, Colorado and Grandchildren; Willie Buford II, Denver, Co; Theresa Beerbauer, Mo; Lee-Ann Sharp, Mo; Amy Boyd, Blue Springs, MO; Sarah Dickens, Kansas City, MO; Jennifer DeBlois, Haymarket, VA; James Cowen, Elgin Tx. She is survived by 11great grandchildren and her Best Friend of 63 years Lieselotte Gardner, Kansas City, MO.
Margot was a resident of the John Knox Care Center, Lees Summit, MO. She lived many years in Retirement at Red Bridge Place, Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, board and card games and socializing with her many local friends as well as those from Germany and Austria. She was formerly a member of the German-American Club and more recently the Red Hat Club. She was regarded as a woman who always had a kind word for everyone and never forgot the birthday of a friend or family member. Margot moved to America in 1948 from Germany, lived in Japan 1955-59, and spent many years living in California before returning to Kansas City. Margot Winemiller will be remembered as a joyful, loving woman who was a wonderful mother and a great friend.
