Joanne Witte, 65, of Loveland, Colorado passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at The Groves Rosewood Health Center in Independence, MO. A memorial service will be held in The Groves Community Room on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 2:00 pm. The family suggests contributions be made to either The Groves Community Hospice or Outreach International.
Joanne was born December 26, 1942 in Council Bluffs, IA to George McKeown, Jr. and Mabel (Angeroth) McKeown. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1961 then attended Graceland College, earning her degree in Elementary Education in 1965. After spending five years teaching in Iowa and California, she and her husband, Lynn Witte, moved to Colorado and she began working for the Denver Department of Social Services. During her free time, Joanne enjoyed music, cooking, traveling and learning about different cultures. Joanne’s cheerful and chatty personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lynn Witte; mother Mabel Jacobson; sister Barbara Rasmussen; one niece; three nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
