Robert Womack

Robert L. Womack, 49, of Grain Valley, MO passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital East. A visitation will be held from 5-6:00 PM Tuesday, September 22 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, with services to begin at 6:00 PM; cremation to follow services. Robert was born Aug. 17, 1960 in Chicago, IL. He grew up in Caruthersville, MO and following high school Rob worked in heavy road construction for 25 years. In his spare time, Rob enjoyed woodworking, astronomy, and politics. He was an avid fireworks fan, putting on annual neighborhood displays. He will be missed for his sense of humor by all who knew and loved him. Robert was preceded in death by his step-father, Don Schutt and father, Leo Womack. He is survived by his wife Tina (Baggett) Womack; daughter Katherine Banta and husband Lance; granddaughters whom he adored: Dezeray, Penelope, and Charlotte; mother Marge Schutt; sister Elizabeth Blevins and husband Richard; niece Beth Enke, husband Josh, and their children Noah, Nathan, and Christian; sisters-in-law Kay Hughes and Lovida Igo and husband Dennis; and a host of extended family and friends.
