Karen L. (Martin) Woodall, 68 of Sugar Creek, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo 64052. Donations may be made in her name to the Sugar Creek Citizens Civic Relief Fund. Karen was born August 19, 1942 in Independence, MO to Robert and Madeline (Talbot) Martin and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1960 where she was the Homecoming Queen that year. Karen was Vice President of Sales for Carmean Inc. in Independence where she spent most of her career. She was a member of the F.O.E. #3717 and St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She married Danny Woodall in July 1962 and they enjoyed 36 wonderful years together until his passing in 1997. She enjoyed baking, fishing and playing cards with her family and friends but most of all, taking care of people. She is survived by her children, Mike (Abby of Blue Springs, MO, Scott of Sugar Creek, MO, Kerry (Mike) of Kansas City, MO and Matt (Heather) of Sugar Creek, MO; a sister, Connie, brothers, Michael, Danny and Bob. 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Ali, Chase, Trey, Ara, Dakota, Victoria, Samantha, Fritz and Christian and a great grandchild, Amelia. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, David, R.J. and Chris.
