Jeptha Woods

Jeptha (J.B.) Woods, 90, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, January 6, 2012, peacefully, in his own home. Memorial services for Mr. Woods will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, at Westwood Christian Church; 5050 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS.

J.B. was born September 3, 1921 in Renick, MO to parents Clarence and Susan (Harris) Woods. He moved to Kansas City, MO to work for Pratt and Whitney during World War II, before working for Marley Cooling Towers, where he retired in 1982 after 32 years of employment. J.B. was a LIFE MEMBER and Worshipful Master of the Westport Masonic Lodge #340, and a member of the Ararat Shrine.

J.B. is survived by his loving wife, Darlene of 57 years; sister Ethyl Hurst of Richland, WA; sister Marilyn Bailey of Higbee, MO; daughter-in-law Karen Woods of Ottawa, KS; grandchildren Brandi, Ashley, and Chelse; and great-grandchildren Mia, Jayden, Kiana, and Ava of Gladstone, MO. J.B. was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard Woods; brother Clifford Woods and sister Bonnie.
