Peggy Woods

Peggy Jean Woods, 80, Independence, MO passed away at home, Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was born the 3rd of 6 children to George & Marie Long and was raised in Kansas City. Peggy married Aubrey Norris Woods (Woody) on December 31, 1948. Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses, Randy and Kelli, Sherry, Mindy, Jeff and Cindy, Aaron and Kelly. They have blessed her with 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Homer Long, sister and brother-in-law June and Tom Redenbaugh and sister Bonnie Jones.

Peggy was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years, directing VBS, teaching Sunday School, visiting thru Homebound ministry, doing arts & crafts, enjoying women’s ministry and supporting missions. Peggy enjoyed watching her St. Louis Cardinals, Duke Blue Devils and “The Duke”. She loved the Lord and accomplished much in her 80+ years. Peggy has been blessed by her many friends and family. She donated her body to science.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church; 1915 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050. In lieu of flowers, Peggy requested donations be made to the Glenkirk Home; 3504 Commercial Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062 where her granddaughter Liz Cobb is a resident.
