Frances Woody

Frances M. Woody, 92, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 20, 2011. Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6–8 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
Frances was born Sept. 18, 1918 in Kansas City, KS. Her family moved to Independence and she graduated from William Chrisman High School. Frances and her husband Bob were charter members of the Beverly Hills Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for forty-two years and also served as the director of Vacation Bible School for many years. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, faithfulness to her church and love of family.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Robert Woody in 1994. She is survived by daughter Barbara Swope and husband Chuck; son Robert Woody and wife Kay, all of Odessa, MO; sons Dr. Charles Woody and wife Cheryl, Princeton, KY; Major (Ret.) Carl Woody and wife Sue, Manteo, NC; daughter Linda Breazeale and husband Bob, Blue Springs, MO; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
