Mary Virginia Wright, 82, of Independence, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 05, 2007 at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence after a long illness. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel with Rev. E.M. Hay officiating. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007. Burial in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Hospice. Mary was born on January 29, 1925 in Nevada, MO to Ivan "Ike� and Lola (Chitwood) Hargrove. Mrs. Wright worked at the Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant for 25 years before retiring in 1980. She was married to Cyrus Wright on April 17, 1945 after he had returned from China where he served his country during WWII. They were married for over 60 years before he preceded her in death on May 25, 2005. Virginia was a charter member of Waldo Avenue Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Independence, and most recently Noland Road Baptist Church. She had a beautiful voice and blessed many with her musical talents. Mrs. Wright is survived by her two sons, Dennis Wright and wife Vickie, Rodney Wright and wife Ruth; seven grandchildren Kevin Wright, Kim Ivey and husband Greg, Jason Wright, Brian Wright and wife Jennifer, Kristina Cornelious and husband Joe, Erik Lundy, Rachel Lundy; eight great-grandchildren; brother John Hargrove and wife Margaret Ann; brother-in-law Harold Edmondson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Edmondson and Betty Peoples, and her brother Don Hargrove.
