Barbara J. (Meyer) Wymore, 77, Blue Springs, MO passed away Thursday, April 09, 2009 at her home.
Memorial services will be 3:30 pm Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th
St. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or John Knox Hospice.
Barbara was born February 3, 1932 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Loris N. and Barbara T. (Heim) Wymore. She was a graduate of Central High School. Barbara was employed with TWA as an executive secretary, and later was employed with Wallpaper Etc. Inc. as a design consultant for 7 years. Barbara was Past President of the Junior Service League of Independence, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed volunteering for her community, gardening, sewing, and quilting. Barbara’s greatest passion was her family. When her grandchildren were younger, every Wednesday would be spent at grandma’s house.
Survivors include her children, son, Brett C. Meyer and his wife Bridget of Blue Springs, their children, Nate and Zach; daughter, Kara L. Finkbiner and her husband Robert of Blue Springs, their children Brad, Stephen and Kristen; son, Darren K. Meyer and his wife Vicky of Kansas City, and Darren’s children Jimmy and Julianne; and son, Paul A. Meyer and his wife Sherri of Grain Valley; sisters, Betty Nadeau of Topeka, KS and Mary Jo Sawtelle and her husband Rolland of Topeka, KS; brother, Jack N. Wymore and his wife Ann of Overland Park, KS; a daughter in law Laurie Meyer of Lee’s Summit and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved aunt, Elvyn Ramsey
